RIB Rides Around Anglesey

A trip to Plas Rhianfa would not be complete without an exhilarating RIB ride along the Menai Straits. This glorious stretch of water running between Anglesey and North Wales has many sights to see, its own unique history to tell and a stunning backdrop that keeps your eyes peeled along the way.

Ribride, our local RIB and boating partner offer a number of discounted packages to guests staying at Plas Rhainfa. Simply walk through the landscaped gardens down to your own private beach where your RIB, complete with skipper will be ready to whisk you and your guests away on their state of the art RIB's, which can comfortably carry 11 guests at up to 50mph.

Puffin Island

This one hour trip will pass the stunning waterfront of Beaumaris as we head into open water towards Penmon lighthouse. From there it is a short hop to Puffin Island to visit the huge numbers of sea birds and seals which now are resident on the Island.

Know historically as Ynys Seiriol it has been a monastery, signalling station and now is a nature reserve teaming with birds and over 100 resident seals. We circumnavigate the Island hoping to spot the seasonal puffins on the cliffs. A true wildlife experience! A short open water run takes us back to the mainland to look at the hidden quarries used to provide the stone which built Liverpool docks. An enjoyable return trip allows you to take in the shipwrecks and offers a great view of Snowdonia from the water.

Llanddwyn Island

Travel along the entire length of the Menai Strait, passing under both historic bridges and Caernarfon Castle to head out into the bay and onwards to one of the most beautiful beaches in Britain. You stop for a picnic in Pilots cove with stunning views of the Llyn and Snowdonia as your backdrop.

Historic Conwy Tour

Pass Puffin Island and explore the wildlife, then carry on to historic Conwy. After a peaceful sojourn up the estuary and up the beautiful Conwy river, you can step off to explore the town and castle and enjoy some crab sandwiches on the quayside.
